Jackson's Nursery

Ray and I are so excitied that next year we will be able to share Christmas with Jackson, celebrate Jesus' birthday, and continue old traditions and start new ones. Last night, on Christmas Eve, Ray and I painted Jackson's nursery. The color of the walls are going to be a blue/gray with a red accent wall. The items that we decoriate the nursery with I want us to have come kind of connection to them. For instance, Ray has his first lil league home run baseball and I am going to cut it open and make a cross out of it to hang in the nursery. My mom (thinks) found my old Radio Flyer wagon that I am going to add wooden slats to use as a bookshelf. Ray's Nana recieved their last name (Jackson) beautifully crocheted for their 50th anniversity and we are going to frame it and use in the nursery. The items going in I want to have a rustic feel to them. The crib bedding that I am really badly wanting is from Pottery Barn that has the madras print on it. Ray and I (check out Ray's shorts in the summer) both love that print and think that Jackson could use it later for his toddler bed. We are so excitied about Jackson and creating the nursery that we wanting to share with the people that mean the most to us. Thanks for all of your prayers and kind words!!

I wanted to show you how God has blessed us with such great family and friends that are supporting ever decision we make about baby Jackson. Last night I was adding the last couple of puzzle pieces and started crying because I remember when this puzzle was just an idea and now it's a piece of art with LOVE and SUPPORT. Baby Jackson

Saturday night while waiting for our table at Texas Roadhouse Jackson's birthmother called. We chatted and were discussing her upcoming doctors appointment when she asked me if Ray and I had thought about baby names. Ok, I need to tell you that we hadn't told her that we really wanted to use the name Jackson yet. So I told her that Ray and I had already discussed that no matter if we adopted or had our own son we really wanted to use the name Jackson because it was Ray's Papa's last name. Ray's Papa (Papa Ray) was a very influential person in our lives and we wanted to be able to remember him in this special way. Papa Ray wasn't able to see many memoriable moments that Ray and I have been able to share together. After sharing this information with the birthmother she starts to tear up and says that there's no way that Ray and I had picked out that name. I ask what she means and she shares with me that if she was able to help name the baby that's the exact SAME name she had picked out. You can't say that all of this is coincidence. This is truly GOD at work. GOD has his hands on Ray and I, birthmother and baby Jackson, and the overall situation. Ray and I are so excitied about welcoming baby Jackson into our family and wait for all of you to meet him.

When you look up the meaning of Jackson you will find son of Jack. When I looked up the meaning of Jack I found GOD IS GRACIOUS!!

Putting the Pieces Together

Ray and I are so excitied that we were able to talk to the birthmother Friday night. The conservation went great. What are the chances that the birthmother and I would have the same middle name SHEA!! Both of us were both surprised. So now that we have been matched with a birthmother we have been praying that God will continue to guide us through this journey. We have to turn in a big part of the adoption fee tomorrow. God has provided this far and will continue to provide, but we would like to ask for all the prayers that everything lines up with the finances, my maternity leave, birthmother, and baby Jackson. When baby Jackson is born we will have to travel out to Arkansas to get our bundle of joy and those expenses are not included in the adoption fees. So, we are nervous about how we will travel to Arkansas and how long we will be out there because we have to finalize the adoption under Arkansas law. Thanks again for all of your prayers and support. God is so evident throughout this whole process. If you would like to sponsor a puzzle piece you may contact me at

A special thanks to these people for sponsoring a puzzle piece.
